How to get invited to Google+ Plus – invitation to google+ trick

Update: August 10th, 2011

Very proud to say that I have invited over 500 people to google plus :) Thanks guys for all the support.  I’m still giving out invites!

If you’re like me, you’ve been doing a lot of searching on how to get a Google+ Plus invitation. There are several bloggers who are offering invites if you follow/share their stuff (which I will also do) – The problem is, even if they invite you, there is no guarantee that the invite will come.

With this issue, I tried various things. The one thing I noticed is that Google Plus looks very similar to Google Profiles:

So, I started to play around with my Google Profile. Sure enough, as I was exploring the help section, there was overlapping in the links between Google Plus and Google Profiles.

Here are the steps I took and eventually got the invite, even when they say invitations are closed. Please note these may or may not work… I’m just saying this is what I did, and the invitation soon followed.

1.  Request an invitation from me:

All I ask in return is you tweet about who sent you your invite. Click here to tweet and input your email address to get your invitation!

Update: Due to the number of requests I’ll be uploading in bulk every few hours. Check back through-out the day to check the status.

2. Setup a Google Profile

Google “Google Profiles” and set one up. Be sure to fill it out completely, including uploading pictures and setting up a Buzz account.

3. Download Google Chrome

Make sure you’re logged into Google after you download google chrome. You can do this at www.google.com.

4. Change your Gmail theme to the new “Preview Theme”

You can do this by clicking on the gear “top right” Mail Settings->Theme:

5. +1 a few things on Google Search

Just go to www.google.com and do a search on anything. If you’re logged in, next to each link you should see a +1 button. Try to +1 about 5 different links:

6. Download the Google+ Android App (optional)

Download the Google Android App and you may see a sign up option on the phone.

Complete these steps and your invitation should come through, even though Google has “closed” invitations.

Don’t forget to give me a +1 once you get online :)
